New Perspectives for Learning<\/span><\/h1>\n

EU-supported educational research 1995-2005<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 1995, the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission has supported a significant number of research projects, thematic networks and project clusters that address a wide range of issues of education and training. The total EU contribution to these projects exceeds 50 million Euro. These collaborative endeavours – some of them currently in progress – have produced important insights for policy formulation and have laid the foundations for significant research co-operation across Europe in this field.<\/p>\n

This web site is aimed primarily at\u00a0policy and decision makers\u00a0in the field of education and training.\u00a0 Given, however, that education is strongly interconnected with several other areas of social policy, this web site is potentially of interest and relevance to a large number of policy and decision makers beyond the field of education and training;<\/p>\n

The web site contains\u00a0Briefing Papers,\u00a0Newsletters<\/a>,\u00a0Press Releases\u00a0and a Report<\/a>\u00a0highlighting some of the key conclusions and policy recommendations emerging from these activities.<\/p>\n

It also provides details of\u00a0new educational research projects\u00a0supported by DG-Research under the Sixth EU Framework Programme.<\/p>\n
